1. General
Cabopino is a charming harbor town surrounded by lots of nature. The coastline is much wider than most other beaches and is surrounded by dunes. This is a very well-kept area that is pleasant both to live in and to visit. Because of this, a community has arisen in recent years that consists for a considerable amount of Northern European inhabitants.
2. Sights
A nice place to stay in Cabopino are the dunes of Artola. Along them you can take a hiking trail, which is just under 3 kilometers long and starts and ends on the beach of Cabopino. The dunes of Artola were declared a natural monument by the regional government of Andalusia in 2001, and are an important place of interest.
There is also La Torre Ladrones, or literally the thieves tower. During the period of Arab domination, this 15 meters high tower was built and became the highest watchtower in Málaga. If you decide to take a walk in the dunes, you can also spot this tower.
3. Culinary delights
If you like to enjoy delicious Spanish dishes, you should go to the port of Cabopino. Here you are surrounded by charming local restaurants and you will find a wide choice of dishes.
Highly recommended is Albert’s Cabopino. This restaurant daily serves very creative and healthy dishes. It exists for almost 15 years now and throughout this period they have continued to optimize their services and menu. Those who would like to visit it, can also enjoy the pleasant southern climate from their renewed outdoor terrace!
The Californian bistro and grill Hermosa is known for its international dishes. These are prepared on the basis of typical Andalusian flavors that are combined with modern interpretations of traditional European, American, and Asian dishes. So here you can expect spicy meals!
4. Lifestyle
In general, Cabopino is a quiet seaside village with an exclusive appearance. All the facilities you need are within easy reach, ranging from restaurants to golf courses and beaches. Families like to come here with children, because the water is very clean and shallow. But young people who would like to enjoy the nightlife here, are better off going to larger cities. Despite the fact that pubs and bars often stay open late, there is a lot of peace and quiet to be found here.
5. Nightlife
As mentioned above, the nightlife in Cabopino is not that extensive. One can enjoy delicious cocktails in one of the beach bars, but these never stay open extremely late. Young people who like to go out should therefore go in the direction of Marbella or Fuengirola.
6. Shopping
Cabopino has some supermarkets and souvenir stores. However, there are no extensive shopping centers like in Fuengirola or Marbella. For basic needs you don’t have to leave Cabopino, but if you want to buy some glamorous outfits to have dinner with, you should head to the larger cities.
7. Sports & Leisure
The most famous water sports center of Cabopino is Splash Watersports. Here you can spot dolphins or do waterskiing. The center is located at the port of Cabopino and is therefore very easy to reach.
Besides water sports, golf is also one of the biggest leisure activities. Be sure to play golf at at Cabopino Golf. This 18-hole golf course is located opposite the marina of Cabopino and has a spectacular view of the Mediterranean Sea and the green vegetation around it.
8. Beaches & Beach clubs
Playa de Cabopino, also known as Playa de Artola, distinguishes itself from other beaches by the good quality of the water. It is surrounded by dunes and is the ideal place to spend the day. Those who want to enjoy the sunset in the evening can go to one of the beach bars along the beach or the harbor.
